Whitney Houston's body was flown to her home state of New Jersey for a funeral,?according to NBC New York.
The plane touched down at Teterboro Airport just after 10:30 p.m. It reportedly departed from Van Nuys Airport at about 3 p.m. Pacific Time, NBC New York reported.
Los Angeles ?????assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said in a press conference Monday that the security hold placed on information about the high-profile case did not prevent the singer's body from being released to her family.
Houston's family plans holding a wake Thursday and?will hold a?funeral Friday at Newark's Prudential Center, home of such teams as the New Jersey Devils and temporarily of the New Jersey Nets, a source close to the arena tells NBC New York. The arena seats close to 20,000 for concerts.
??The Grammy-winning singer, 48, was found unconscious underwater in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Saturday. She was staying at the hotel before a pre-Grammys party. The cause of her death has not been determined. Winter says no announcement will be made until toxicology tests are finished, which could take more than a month.
She was remembered in tributes at Sunday's Grammy awards.
