Andrew Knights, the musician in charge of 'Music Unlocking Memories' sessions, is holding an open music session to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's Society.
'The best day of the week', 'they walk in with their heads low, they walk out with their heads held high' ? comments that can be heard after every music session organised by Alzheimer's Society in the New Forest area from participants and volunteers.
As part of Andrew's fundraising for the London Marathon on 21 April he has kindly decided to organise an open session at the Milford on Sea Music Group which will be open to the public. The event will be held on Wednesday 29 May from 2-5pm at Milford on Sea Community Centre.
Andrew said:
'With a wonderful team of volunteers in Hythe, Milford on Sea, Ringwood and Romsey we cherish and 'unlock' the fragile song memories that still remain with the participants of the groups. We marvel at the emotional engagement that becomes possible through the help of the music. Many participants say that music group days are the best days of the week.'

It is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to exerience a typical music session and understand how important the service is to people living with dementia and their loved ones.
