Social Work Continuing Education ? Where to Find Classes

Assisting people who are in need is a wonderful job field to go into. Not only is there usually plenty of work but it?s a very rewarding feeling to know that you are helping those in need. Laws, rules, and regulations change regularly though?it?s the only way to keep up with life and situations that arise. If you plan on keeping your certification then you?ll need to attend a few classes a year. There are many different social work continuing education classes available for you to choose from.

Depending on what your certification requirements are you might have to take multiple classes in a given year. The thing you?ve got to determine is whether you want to travel to a live class where you?ll have to sit for hours in a classroom or auditorium? For many people it?s the best way for them to ensure that they get their CE credits. It can be a time consuming process, especially if you don?t live in an area that has access to these types of opportunities. There are other options available to you, however, if you just take the time to explore all of your opportunities.

There are several places online to get your social work continuing education classes. A simple search will allow you to check the multiple websites that have such content. While you will still have to pay for the courses, each site varies on what the charges are. Some sites will charge a flat fee per course while others will charge a fee per hour of credit that you will receive at the end of the class. On most of these sites the charges are minimal and you just need to know how they bill so that you aren?t surprised by extra charges at the end of the class.

You?ll have a lot of opportunities available to you as far as what types of classes you can take. If you specialize in a certain area you might be required to take certain classes. If not then you will have a wonderful opportunity to remain up to date on either a handful of areas that interest you or broaden your knowledge on an area that you might not deal with on a day to day basis. Different sites have different options for you to choose from.

Before you take any online classes you need to check and make sure that they meet your state?s social work continuing education requirements. Nothing is more frustrating than spending time and money on a class only to find out later that it doesn?t meet the requirements set forth by your state. You can save yourself a lot of frustration, time and money by just taking a moment and finding out what your state requires as far as CE.

Facts remain that no matter whether you are more of a book learner that does better by attending a class or seminar in person, or a self-starter that thrives on working online on your own schedule, you need to get your credits. Which route you choose is a completely personal choice.

Social work continuing education will definitely help you meet the requirements outlined by your state or help you further your career. For more information about this please see: http://www.psychotherapynetworker.org/.
